About Me

I was lucky enough to be raised in a creative household as a child. I am forever grateful for that and want my children to experience a non-judgemental, inspirational upbringing as well. I love that my desire to go to art school was never questioned and always encouraged. I graduated in 2005 with a B.F.A. degree in design.

My life is blessed with three amazing children and an incredible, supportive husband. Every day that I get to spend at home with my children is a gift - and one I try desperately not to take for granted.

I started this blog over three years ago, in an attempt to share our creativity, arts and crafts on a daily basis. Over the years, we have changed quite a bit, and so has this blog. We are constantly moving toward healthier, more sustainable living and a lot of art time is spent in open-ended play. So as we change, so will the overall content of this blog.

We have a dream of one day living in a very rural area and being very self-sufficient. It's a dream that requires a lot of learning and a lot of saving. As we grow, learn, and stumble along the way, most of what we do will be shared here.

I love to try new things and get really excited when they turn out successful. I also love to write. Blogging is my answer to a much needed creative outlet. Sharing on the blog is so much fun for me, and it's even better when I get to hear back from all of you.

I am so grateful for each and every one of you. You are my inspiration to come back here as often as I do. You help make this blog so exciting for me - so thank you!

Much of the theme this year will involve frugal living. I have committed myself to a spending fast - only spending money on absolute needs. I would love to have you follow along and share some ideas, I always welcome new view points and love to hear how other people make things work for them. There will still be plenty of arts, crafts and recipes this year.

I look forward to sharing the upcoming year with you!
